I have resisted weighing in on the ground zero mosque because I thought the obvious answer to the situation would surely prevail. But seeing the way it is going I think it is important to add my voice to the voices out there.
This is a no brainer people. The are not only allowed to have a mosque there but the should be encouraged to build one there. Not only that, we should give them a place right at ground zero, not 2 blocks away. The rationality is simple. First, it was not Islam that leveled the towers, it was a radical faction. Second, our country is founded on freedom of expression.
I am very disappointed in all the narrow minded people who object to the mosque. If you had a loved one killed at the trade centers then I officially sympathize with you and understand that you may not want the mosque there because there is such an incredible burden placed on you. But if you are just saying they should not put one there without such cause then shame on you.
The radical faction that did this is winning and you are the ones that are letting them win. Shame on you and do not make my country run in fear with your prejudice.
I will be continuing my posting series about the book of Romans soon, and I am mostly done with the post but want to read it again before I post.
There have been so many things going on. First, I have been absolutely engrossed by the idea that we can not find it within our country to forgive the Islamic religion and allow them to build their Islamic center in New York. Come on now people, it was a bunch of extremists that ran planes into the towers, not the Islamic religion.
Second, there has been a lot of activity in the blogosphere about the nature of Genesis and the whole issue of inerrancy in the bible. Let me be clear about this. The bible is god’s word, but the people who claim the bible is inerrant are not advocating for a belief in finding the truth in the text. Instead, they are advocating for their interpretation of the bible to be the correct one. This is the height of arrogance to me. They feel that their interpretation is the correct one per god and no one else is right. Well, they are a cult and that is the correct interpretation of their behavior.
Third, life has just been going around and around and I have not had the time to post here, rather I have been taking care of the family. Such are the trade offs we make. God bless anyone who reads this and I hope to have the next part of Romans up soon.
